Transitional Kindergarten – Preparing Your Child for a Smooth Entrance into Primary School
Early childhood is exciting but as your child gets closer and closer to that seminal age of 5, many things start to change — the most significant of which is preparing for the inevitable entrance into Kindergarten.
The Teddy Bear Club’s Jardin Maternel (Kindergarten) program offers an engaging, yet accessible curriculum where academics are rigorous and a nurturing environment is ever-present.
Our Kindergarten teachers are equipped to handle children of all types — those who miss the cutoff date for Kindergarten, or any child who could benefit from an extra year of Pre-K before entering primary school. Either way, the Teddy Bear Club offers a structured and comfortable environment for your child to thrive in.
Our academics include individualized instruction that is developmentally appropriate, yet still meets the state mandated standards —students learn the same literacy skills, mathematics, science, social studies, computer and technology, performing and creative arts as their counterparts in Massachusetts primary schools.
As is the Teddy Bear Club’s trademark, Kindergarten teachers also embed a bilingual program, where new students will be introduced to French by learning the basics to understand and communicate, while return students will continue to refine their conversation skills by continuing to grow their vocabulary and formulating short sentences.
And all of our curriculum is delivered using experiential learning with much emphasis on the whole child. Students don’t just listen to their teacher — they explore and engage with their environment daily and relate to their peers using collaboration and hands-on discovery.
At the Teddy Bear Club, we ensure that your student(s) will be prepared for matriculating in a Kindergarten or first-grade class in primary school the following year.
If the Teddy Bear Club’s Kindergarten program seems to be the right fit for your child during these transitional years, come visit us by booking a tour at our Lincoln or Newton campuses here.
